My Front Door Decor

I love this craft of mine.

Y'all may not agree but just in case I'll show you how I did it.

I read I needed to use these 3D paper mache letters.....

However Hobby Lobby only sells these ones that are 6 inches tall.  I needed my "B" to be about 10 to 12 inches tall. So I had to improvise. So I clued 4 of these letters together in order to get a comparable thickness.

I then bought twine, mod podge glue and ribbon.

Its sideways... I know I am sorry
still sideways... sooo sorry. Note that the mod podge is matte

It takes a little bit to figure out how you want go about wrapping the letters. But after that you just get started.

First you cover a small area with modge podge. Then wrap the part covered in glue with your twine.

Do this little by little but after you complete a little piece go back over what twine you have attached with Mod podge. So you will have glue holding the twine to the letter and glue over the twine. You may need to take a second to hold the twine down until it sticks with out assistance.

 then just keep moving on....

and on.....

then when you finish wrapping coat it lightly in mod podge for good measure....

After it dries hot clue what ever flowers or whatnot's you wish to decorate it with. It would be really cute with the felt flowers. That will be what I put on mine next. Then you staple the ribbon to the back to hang it from.

Wallah....

This is my inspiration. I think I did pretty good.

Hello Again.....

Yes I have been absent from the blogging world for about a month or so. I am sorry but I have been extremely lazy busy lately. ;) I just haven't had anything interesting going on. I have worked on some crafts I saw on Pintrest I could show you.

I made this for my front door, I actually saw this on etsy and pinned it to pintrest

Do you like????? (This picture doesn't do it justice. As you know I really need a new camera. A Canon Rebel if anyone wants to get me a little something) I am working on a post about how I made it. When I finish I'll put it up.

Also I have been working on a diaper cake for a baby shower Jonell is helping with. This is how it turned out....

Lookie What I Got....

FLOWERS!!! From my hubby. I don't say it nearly enough but I LOVE THAT MAN!!!!

Today is my 27th birthday....(Mercy 30 is getting closer and closer) and I guess Justin is making up for the late birthday wishes from last year. (You can read about them here) He woke me up at 5:45 this morning to tell me Happy Birthday, text me at 6:10 to tell me again and then at 12:00 today these arrived in my office :)

Thank you baby!!!!!

On a side note....I have noticed every girl in the blogoshere has nik-named their hubby except for me. So do y'all have any suggestions??? We can name him like they do the interns on The Rick and Bubba Show.

Weekend Fun.....

We had a great weekend this past weekend. I kicked the weekend off by heading to the Beauty Shop after work Friday afternoon. I decided to give in and throw a few highlights in my hair. I colored my hair darker before Christmas (just to combat the roots). I told Justin I would have it lightened after the first of the year. So after him asking "I thought you were getting your hair done"? for the 10th time, I got the hint. One fun fact about my hubby.................

He signed up for a long haired blond not a short haired brunette (his words not mine). He's such a sweet talker. ;)

While I sat under a dryer Justin attended Men's night at our church. Our pastor felt led to have dinner and a bible study for the men Friday night. Justin seemed to enjoy himself and had nothing but positive things to say about his time there.

Saturday I got to spend a few hours with my bestie's and there sweet little girls. While I was there I decided someone needs to start having a boy or two. 5 Girls and 0 boys in our group.

Last night our church had a movie night. We watched Courageous. Now if you haven't seen this movie yet...GO WATCH IT!!! It is wonderful and has a great message. Word of warning though......bring the tissues, you will need them!!!

May I just add....Our Pastor asked a question Sunday morning. He asked ( and I am paraphrasing) when the last time us Ladies have told our husbands that we love and support them. When was the last time we said that we are praying for them, that we know they will become the husband, father and man God has called them to be and that we promise to be their help mate in getting there? I am not sure I have done that. So in front of all of the blogosphere....

Justin,

I love you. I am here to support you in all that you do. I am praying for you. I know that you will become the husband, the FATHER (uh hum ;) hint hint) and man God has called you to be. Lastly, I promise to be your help mate in getting you there. Thank you for being you!!!! I am blessed to call you mine!!!!

PS...
I had to throw in the "hint hint" part. A girl needs to take advantage of every opportunity...right? ;)

Until Next Time............

The Final Product

I just realized that I never posted anything recapping Christmas at the Bishop house. I did this for good reason. We took absolutely NO pictures. I can't believe I forgot this little detail with it being the first Christmas in our new house and all.

Justin liked his not so surprise Christmas present. He worked diligently to get the "man cave/theater" intact in time for the big championship game (Roll Tide).

This is the final product....

With the screen up

Screen down

I was going to video the screen coming down (you know because it is electric and remote controled). However who am I kidding?? Most of my blog audience is girls and us girls couldn't care less about this kind of stuff.

The Transformation of Our Home

I received a free shutterfly photo book coupon from Best Buy when we bought our lap top. I finally put it to use. I have been wanting to document the transformation of Bishopville with pictures. I put it off long enough.......

Shutterfly offers exclusive photobook layouts so you can make your book just the way you want.

This Little Piggy

After discovering EVERYONE but me had discovered pintrest I decided I needed to join the movement. I am enjoying it for the most part. I do think my wallet is going to suffer but Hobby Lobby will appreciate it I am sure. There are a few crafts on my agenda. However last night I tried something I saw and it cost Zip, Zero, Nada. I already had the stuff.

It wasn't a craft per say.....

It was ladybug toe nails. Now before I show you I want to say I have the ugliest toes known to man. It took a lot of nerve for me to post pics of my gnarly feet. In fact the droid, my little piggies and I had like a hour long photo shoot last night. Anyway without further ado.....

What do think????? (looking solely at the paint job and not the disfigured toes)
