We Have A Gable People!!!!

Finally after much debate and a little bit of freaking out we finally have the start of our gable!!!!!!
The view from the Road

A little closer

Bit of a side view
As previously mentioned I have fought for this little item. We printed a picture from the internet before we started this whole project and it was our intention to copy this picture as much as possible. So as you would of guessed.....The house in the picture has this huge gable on top. It has a window and ceder shakes in it. I simply love the house we are trying to mimic. So how can you change something that makes the whole house?

I have purposely not shown you, little blogger friends, the picture we are using as a guide. I did this because I feared our house would not turn out anything like it. If you had never seen what we where shooting for then you wouldn't know the difference.....Right??? Well, who cares what you think......(I kid, I kid).......Drum Roll Please........

Okay, it WILL be different from this. For instance our garage doors will be in front of the house. I loved the idea of them being on the side but that meant moving alot of dirt and JoNell's tulip tree.......Just not worth the money, time and the explaining we would need to do ;). Also as you can see, I have so graciously marked out the offset that we won't be building.....who needs it? Next, I am sad to report the colors will be different.....Jusie poo just wont go for the red shutters. Plus this is a slab house....ours will have a crawl space.................okay okay our house will look nothing like this......except for the GABLE :)!!!!!!

PS......
Notice how green the grass is in this pic????? What did they do spray paint it? This house is obvioulsy not located in Alabama or maybe they actually water their grass....who would of thought???

Its Getting There

We have a roof. Well most of it anyway......

There will be a gable on the front of the house. It will sit on the middle, highest part of the roof. Note I have had to fight for this little item. Robbie, our contractor really likes it like it is and since he is family he has no trouble telling me this. It is okay though, I have NO problem telling him how I will like so much better with the gable!!!!!

We did get our screen room started......
We also started picking out rock, brick, vinyl siding and our ceder shakes. Oh and we ordered our windows and exterior doors!!!!! Maybe we'll get to put them in soon!!!!

Here in Bishopville

We have been pretty busy here in Bishopville. We got the rafters on all of our house (when I say "we" I mean the contractors)

FYI - This is not the roof, It is out Vaulted Ceiling!!!! Yay!!!

Today I came home to the start of the roof over our master suite!!!!

Hopefully the roof will be finished soon. I am REALLY REALLY looking forward to seeing it take shape.

We did however have a bumpy weekend. One word...........RAIN!!! We have been in the middle of what seemed like a drought, that is until the week we took the old roof off, then it POURED!!! We also got..............
that's right.....HAIL. This stuff will make a person miss their carport/garage. Luckily no vehicle damage, thanks to Justin's quick thinking. We pulled all of the cars in the woods.....lol!!! The trees slowed the hail down some. The bathroom ceiling, and the old sub floors did not fair so well. Our bathroom ceiling fell in and our floors have began to bubble up. I think we can salvage the floors but not so much of the bathroom. It's okay though (I wanted to redo it anyway).

PS.....
I do not have a pic of cake #2, again horrible at this whole camera thing. It wasn't anything special. Just a red velvet cake. I made it from scratch though.....Can you believe it? From scratch!!!

Same Ole Stuff

We had a great Memorial weekend. My favorite part was the lake, the boat rides and the smoked ribs we had for Justin's Birthday. Too bad it was back to work on Tuesday......(bad because I had to go, I love to see the contractors working :) )

This is where we are at the end of this short week........

If you look close you can see our bedroom is taking shape
We had the concrete poured for our GIANT porch bright and early Tuesday morning.......
I REALLY need to invest in outdoor furniture
The studs for the walls in our bedroom, closets and bathroom went up. I am sooooo excited to see where everything will be.....
the front bedroom window
the two small side bedroom windows (think we'll put a TV between them)

This is the hallway into bathroom (ya can't tell but my closet is on the left and Justin's closet on the right)

where our tub will be
And this is the tub that will go in that hole
This will be the "toilet's" closet
This is the linen closet and shower
Extra bedroom's two back windows (lil closer together than I expected but ya choose your battles)

Well that's this week's house update!!!!! Boring I know but it's all I got :)
