That Stupid Sheetrock

Friday they pretty much finished out vinyl siding.................

They also delivered our Sheetrock. Now let me tell ya this Sheetrock and I are NOT friends.......First it busted my window. (I should say the folks delivering it, they busted the window and left without telling anyone.) I was under the impression it was the glass that was broken. No it was the frame ........

Now we have to order a new window, have the vinyl taken off, replace the window and reinstall the vinyl......fun fun

That stupid Sheetrock also busted me up......
My arm
My leg

These pictures do not do it justice. My leg will have a bruise the size of my entire thy. I was trying to peek behind the Sheetrock leaned against the wall to see if there was a plug there needing to be marked. (I was marking the floor everywhere there was a plug. This way the sheet rockers would know where they were). I underestimated my strength. However this was not ordinary sheet rock. It is "stretch rock" meaning it is 12ft long and 4 1/2ft wide and it weighs a ton. When I "peeked" behind it, it began to fall over. I did all I could do to catch it but I just couldn't. It hit me, I hit the scaffolding and broke the sheet rock :(. My sweet sweet husband came in and began to tell me how much money I just waisted. At least he did ask if I was okay first.

Me being the emotional basket case that I am, I cried and cried. I was upset not because my wrist was killing me but because I am a cheapskate and I mine as well have went down to the bank, withdrew some cash and burned it. I know....... so stupid. To top it off company walked in right about the time mascare began to roll down my face......how embarrassing. They all thought I was really hurt. They couldn't understand the only thing that was hurt was my feelings and my pride......such a baby.

  3. That is a bad bruise!!! Remember the wise words of my mother, " It's bad when things happen." Maybe it will be fixed soon.:)

  4. When my oldest brother was 12, he was moving a piece of sheetrock. It fell on him and broke his leg. I am glad you weren't hurt any worse....but I know those bruises hurt.

  5. Ollie....I love Becky's wise words....so funny!! Becky....Our sheet rocker says another lady whose house he'd worked on did the same thing. She ended up with 12 stiches in her head. I was blessed to have be able to get out of the way, at least some what.
